Michelle, Nathan, & Oliver

At the end of April, once Nathan was done with school. we decided to go on a roadtrip to Washington DC. We traveled all day and all night and made it to Chicago 24 hours later. We stayed in a super sweet hotel there for two nights. We decided to spend a day wandering Chicago. First we did the Sky Deck at the Willis Tower (Sears Tower). That was so much fun. Super scary, especially when I'm terrified of heights. Even Nathan and Oliver had a hard time stepping out there. It took me quite awhile to get up enough courage to go out there. Nathan ended up having to hold my hand as we stepped out. It was freaky. After that fun little adventure we went to lunch at the BEST pizza place ever. We had Chicago style pizza and it was SOOOOOO tasty! Pizza is my favorite, so I was a happy girl. After that we went and walked around Chicago. We walked to this super sweet fountain then we walked along Lake Michigan. It was so beautiful. We had tons of fun. The next day we drove to Washington DC. We stayed with one of my friends there for about 5 days. We did all sorts of things there. We saw the White House, Washington Monument, tons of Museums (Nathan's favorite by far was the Natural History Museum.), Botanical Gardens, lots of different parks, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Drove around to some of Nathan's old mission spots, and just walked around DC. We had tons of fun there too. It's so beautiful there. After that we drove through Shenandoah National Park. That was a really pretty drive and we would have wanted to do all sorts of hikes, but we didn't have any way to carry Oliver on those hikes and we didn't want to carry him 3-5 miles. After that we took our time driving back to Utah. We stopped in West Virginia for a night. And then we stopped in St. Louis. We had tons and tons of fun on our trip. Oliver's First Birthday

So today was Oliver's first birthday. I can't believe that it has already been a year. He is growing so fast! We celebrated by going over to Nathan's parents house for a birthday party. We had pizza for dinner. He LOVES pizza, just like his Mommy. Then we moved onto presents. He got a fun little bouncing rocking horse, Cars silverware, Cars plate and bowl, and some Toy Story pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa. He LOVES Cars and Toy Story. Those are a couple of his favorite movies. He got some Cars pajamas and Cars bibs from Uncle Bryson, Auntie Ashley, and Bella. He also got an aquarium with fish, a helicopter toy, and the movie Bolt from Mommy and Daddy. After presents, we moved onto cake. I made Oliver a Nemo cake and a little polka dot cake for him to dig into. It was so much fun celebrating with everyone. We'll be going up to Washington next week and we'll be celebrating again with my side of the family. I absolutely love having this little boy in my life. He makes me so happy and he's such a fun little guy to have around. He's such a little sweetheart. He is always snuggling me and giving me kisses, which I LOVE! He's been into licking everything lately. The first thing when I get him up in the morning is lick my arm or neck. It's so weird, but it makes me laugh. He's such a goofball. He's only taking a few step right now. He takes about 5-7 steps. Hopefully he will be walking soon. Here are some fun pictures from his birthday.

We took Oliver camping for the first time this past weekend for Nathan's 25th birthday. It was cold and our firewood was kind of wet, but we ended up having a fun time anyway. We finally got a little fire going and Oliver loved it. He was staring at it all night. Oliver did better camping than what I expected so that was really nice. We didn't get too many pictures, but here are a few that we got.

Trip to Washington

My parents came and visited us the week of Thanksgiving. We had a great time with them. We love to spend time with them. We also got to go to the Salt Lake Temple and do a session there. I had never been through that temple so it was a really neat experience. My parents were leaving Sunday (after Thanksgiving) and I drove back to Washington with them to visit. I stayed there a week and got to spend lots of time with the family. I had so much fun! I love seeing my family! Here are a few pictures from the trip.

New Baby in the Family

This was the Ultrasound we got when we found out he was a boy. I was 20 weeks.

We're having a baby boy in February 2010! We're so excited! Right now I'm 26 weeks. The pregnancy has been going very well. Never had morning sickness or any other problems. Thank Goodness! I'm so very grateful for that. Oliver likes to kick and squirm around all day long. He even responds to pressure on the stomach. When I cross my arms and have them on my stomach he usually kicks me, he also has kicked Foxy (our dog) when he leans against my belly. Nathan has also been able to feel him quite a bit. It's such an awesome feeling to feel him moving around in there.

We do have a name picked out, his name will be Oliver Nathan Anderson. He's going to be the second grandchild, but the first boy on Nathan's side and he will be the 13th grandchild on my side. We just can't wait until he comes!

My 21st Birthday

For my 21st birthday, on Saturday, Nathan took me to lunch and we had a picnic in the rain. No worries, we ate underneath a covered area. Then we took a drive to Park City and he let me go shopping at the outlets there for my present! :) We were there for a few hours until I found some awesome clothes, then we came back down and went out to eat at a really super yummy Asian buffet. Then we watched a movie. Sunday, My actual birthday, I woke up and came down stairs and Nathan had the house decorated with balloons and streamers. He had flowers that he got for me sitting out on the counter along with a really cute card he made for me! He also made a tasty breakfast for me. :) He's the sweetest husband I could ever ask for! I like to be treated like a princess on my birthday and that's exactly what he did. :) Later, we went over to his parents house and they had a little party for me there. They got me a sweet bike, which I'm really excited to put to use! After we left his family's house, we went back to our place and went for a walk with our puppy Foxy, and while Foxy was running around the field, Nathan and I played frisbee. All in all, I had a GREAT birthday!

For Spring break, we went to Capitol Reef with Nathan's family. The day before we went it snowed like 6 inches of snow! It didn't really stick, but we were hoping that the weather would be a little better over the weekend since we were going down south a little bit. Anyway, it ended up snowing on the way down there, and also it snowed in the night. We woke up with snow on our car. Nathan and I slept in our car with a memory foam pad. It was actually super comfortable because the seats in our car lay down pretty much flat. That way we didn't have to worry about setting up a tent. :) We got there Thursday night and we stayed until Sunday. We did all sorts of little hikes and things. It was a lot of fun! We LOVE camping!

We went to Washington this past weekend. My mom Surprised my Dad for their anniversary and got everyone who didn't live there a ticket home to Washington. We haven't all been together for quite a few years so it was really fun to have everyone there. We got some family pics done, that was a bit difficult with all the little kiddos. Kristin came and visited. :) Thanks Kristin for coming to visit me! I love that we got to see you and get our little family picture together with our adopted daughter :D We had lots and lots of fun! Thanks everyone for a great time! And thanks Mom and Dad for flying us home! :)

Christmas

So this year we had Christmas with Nathan's family. We stayed the night at his parents house and did the whole Christmas Eve and Christmas morning thing with his family this year. It was my Christmas away from home. It was nice though. His family is great :) Christmas morning we all woke up and opened our presents. I got Nathan a digital slr camera. He's been wanting one of those for a long time so I finally got one for him :) He was excited! And I finally got to surprise him. He's a hard one to surprise so I was pretty proud of myself haha. He got me a beautiful black pearl necklace that I've been wanting for awhile. And also some Disney Dvd's. I love Disney movies :) And I got a bunch of little other things as well. I won't sit here and list them off though. Here are a couple of pictures from our little Christmas, and our cute little Christmas Tree. Oh and Nathan thought it would be funny to put Foxy in our little ornament box...it's a fox in a box...haha...we thought it was funny. lol.

So I was in Washington from October 3-12. It was really nice to see the family! I wish Nathan could have come with me, but he had to stay and work and go to school. But I got to see my cute new baby niece Hazel. She is so adorable! I loved seeing all the other nieces and nephews! They are just the cutest little things! I got to spend a lot of time with Stephanie and Alida. I got to play with Alida a lot and do crafts with her. She LOVES doing crafts! I loved seeing Stephane and spending time with her. I miss her. On Wednesday, my Mom and I had a girls day and went to lunch and went shopping and then went home and played Scrabble :) I love spending time with my mom! I miss it a lot! Thanks Mom, I love and miss you! I also got to spend some one on one time with my sister Jennifer! That was really nice because we NEVER get to do that. Thanks Jennifer! I had a Blast. I miss talking to you all the time. :( I wish I lived closer to everyone. Maybe one day :D I also got to hang out with my brother Danny and he cooked me some awesome spaghetti! That was SO SO SO yummy! I wish I could have seen Bobby and my Dad a little more. Good thing we're going back for Thanksgiving :) Thanks family for a Fun time! I love you all!

So these past two and a half weeks we were quite the little travelers. We started out flying from UT to Pittsburgh. From there, we drove to Kirtland, OH and did some church history stuff there. We got a tour of the temple, so that was pretty cool. After we were done in Kirtland, We drove to Buffalo, New York. We got there pretty late that night so we pretty much just went to sleep. The next day we drove to Niagara Falls and did that all day that day. That was way fun! We rode the boat called "Maid of the Mist." That was an awesome experience! After that we drove to Nathan's dad's uncle's house and we stayed there for the next couple of days while we did church history stuff. We went to Joseph Smith's farm that he grew up on, Saw the sacred grove, went to see the Palmyra pageant, Saw the Palmyra temple, and all that curch history stuff up in that area. It was way awesome! I reccomend everyone to go up there! After we did all the church history stuff in upstate New York, we drove down to NYC. We stayed in New Jersey and just went out to NYC everyday. We went to the empire state building, the statue of liberty, and took a tour around NYC on a bus. And of course, we went SHOPPING! That I must say was my favorite part of NYC. Oh and we took a speedboat ride out by the statue of libert. That was really fun! I enjoyed that a lot! In NYC it was so hot! It was like 95 degrees every day plus humidity, which = death. It was so so hot! And we had to be outside everyday. Nice and sweaty all day long. yummy yummy. haha! Anyway after that we drove to Philedelphia, PA where we saw the liberty bell and all that jazz. We saw where they make U.S. money. That was interesting. After we did the stuff in Philidelphia, we then drove down to Washington DC. We went around DC and Nathan showed us a lot of his mission area, places he served, where he lived, some investigators places that he taught. That was really fun to see where and what he did for those two years. I also was so impressed that he could go trackting in that kind of weather in long black pants and a tie. It was so deathly hot and I was in shorts and a t-shirt. I must say Nathan's amazing! Haha! He served in the richest counties in the U.S. Those were some nice houses I must tell ya. And Washington DC is so beautiful! It's so green and there's so many trees and bushes! I just loved it! Then we did all the touristy stuff to do in DC like tour the Washington Monument, Tour the Capitol, went to the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial. And all the war memorials there. We went to Mount Vernon and saw George Washington's house and farm and where he's buried. We also went to Arlington Cemetary where JFK is buried. So that's mostly what we did, there are probably a lot of little things I left out of there because I forgot because we did so much stuff, but we had a blast! It was really nice coming home though. It was a long vacation. And it's not as deathly hot here. :)

Camping

So this past weekend we went camping and we found the perfect little campsite. There were no neighbors around us and so we thought it was perfect. We set up our campsite and went for a little bit and then we left the campsite for a couple hours. When we came back there was this loud obnoxious family right next to us. They were very very loud and had lots of kids running around. We went to go make our fire and noticed that the firewood we had was gone. Someone took all our wood while we were gone. So we couldn't even make a fire. :( That was sad. So we just lit our lantern and sat around our lantern. We decided that we would carve sticks and see who could carve the coolest one. Of course Nathan did, I guess that's what happens when you're an eagle scout, haha! Anyway, so we did that or awhile. It was getting late about 10:30pm or so. Quiet time at our campsite was at 10pm. But our neighbors didn't care they were loud until like 11:30pm. They didn't care that people could be trying to sleep. They weren't quiet until someone came and said they would be kicked out if they weren't quiet. So we finally got to go to bed. We woke up the next morning at like 7am because the kids were walking right through our campsite right next to our tent talking really loud. That was fun. haha! So we finally got up, and the people were packing up to leave. We had to start packing up as well. We got up and We looked on the picnic table where we left our carved sticks and Nathan's was gone. They stole his stick. So our camping trip this past weekend was not the greatest, but I still had fun :)

So I finally just caved in and got one of these blogs. :) So Nathan and I are doing great. We are living in Springville, UT. We are both going back to school in the fall. He's going to school to be a physicians assisstant, and I'm going to do some kind of physical education type thing. I forget what the technical name is. Nothing too new and exciting going on with us right now. Just getting ready for our super fun vacation to New York and DC. We are going to upstate N.Y. and seeing some church history stuff and then we're going to NYC, then off to Philidephia, and then on to DC. It's about a two and a half week vacation so we're super excited! But that's about all that's new with us. :D
